for youthnet | Website redesign

It always makes us happy when we get to continue a working relationship with a client based on successful previous projects, and this especially applies to our recent redesign of thesite.org, which we first worked on three years ago. The charity Youthnet contacted us to ask if we would be interested in pitching for the redesign, and we were more than happy to oblige given the fantastic work that thesite does for young people.

As well as creating a site that looks the part for the intended audience, we also had to consider a key requirement: that users of the site can get to the information they require as quickly as possible.

We wanted to ensure that we struck a balance between creating a site that looks

attractive and contemporary but also toes the line in terms of accessibility and usability..The site itself had to be plain HTML, so we came up with ways of creating an interface that utilised the best that HTML has to offer to help it look sleek and dynamic.

Of course, the pressure is on when developing a site of this kind because the decisions you make as designers will have a direct impact on people’s lives. Youthnet knows its audience well, and the feedback has been very positive, so we are extremely pleased with the outcome. We hope that, over the coming months, the traffic will continue to increase and that the site we worked with Youthnet to deliver continues to grow and offer vital support to an audience that really needs it.
